Protest and Murdered Cops

I was upset but not surprised to hear about the death of the cops in NYC. I was hoping that this would not happen and am truly saddened that it has. However this shifting of blame is NOT the answer. People are blaming the NY Mayor for supporting the “I can’t breathe” protest. That is a reach if I have ever seen one!! Maybe people need some helpful background on the purpose of the protest.

Eric Garner was murdered. On video. By Police. And nobody will go to jail because of it. There won’t even be a trial!!

E Garner

Now let’s assume that the man who killed those 2 cops had not taken the cowardly way out and committed suicide. I am willing to bet my life 10 times over that he would have been persecuted to the FULLEST extent of the law (As he should be).
All of these protests are for people being held accountable for their actions. If someone has killed somebody, there should at least be a trial for it (regardless of occupation). There is a message in all of this mess and it is very clear.

If you are not a cop, your life is not as valuable. Period. I’m not even going to get into if you’re not a cop AND a minority.

Right now is not the time for blame. The peaceful protestors should not have to shoulder the guilt of the actions of one psycho who decided to take the law into his own hands.

RIP to the two cops who lost their lives.
